Doors open 6:45pm for 7:30pm start. A fascinating and light-hearted presentation on the history of Southwold Railway from 1879 to 2024, with John Ridgway, a Trustee of the Southwold Railway Trust. Includes rare historic photographs. John will explain why the railway was built, where it was built and who used it, until its closure in 1929. John will then bring us all up to date with where we are now, including the purchase of the steam locomotive ‘Blyth’. As this is part of Science Week at the Arts Centre John will also explain how water is converted to energy. A Q&A session will follow the talk. Books and gifts on sale.
